A Year Worth Living

As I look back at last year, I realize more and more that life with Christ, it was truly an unexpected adventure. I have often taught people that the road less traveled is the one that is in the middle of the jungle. Where you may or may not see what is coming up. It is hard work, cutting down branches and vines. A path that you are always looking for danger because you cannot even begin to recognize some of the new sights and sounds as you have traveled through the jungle.  That is very much how the last year of my life has felt. I have been in the jungle, sometimes just catching a mere glimpse of the hope that Christ instills, as well as basked in the fullness of Christ and what He will do for us on a regular basis. That last year I have moved twice. I have been through a plethora of different emotions, everything from pure joy and excitement, to devastation and hurt, yet one thing has remained. That as I have attempted to follow God through the last year, I feel closer to Him and more bent on following him. As I have transitioned into my third job, and for all practical purposes my first job in the secular world. I have seen God move in ways that I can not explain. I am not sure what all He is up to, but I know that remaining faithful to Him has deeper ramifications than I can even imagine. Seeking first His kingdom, is not just a task nor is it just a choice. Seeking Christ and His kingdom, is about living from moment to moment with courage to live and breath for Him. As I continue to trek through the jungle, Christ and His kingdom will remain the same. In the last year, seeing God be faithful in all things, gives me the courage to continue to trek through the jungle and discover more of His hope and joy in all things, seeking his kingdom, gives me freedom to follow Him and let go of other things.

A New Year, A New Blog

A New Year, A New Blog
I have decided to fire my blog back up. One of my personal goals this year is to become more familiar with the story of the Bible and how it relates to life. However, I am I going to focus on the "un"expected adventure that takes place. As I read, study, and live out this theme, I have chosen to write it all down. I want to share everything I experience and discover, so that years from now I can remember everything. Each week I will post a new blog, it will take a section of scripture, usually a book, and look at it through a new lens. Hopefully you will find this both refreshing and "un"expected. May the year bring you a new and "un"expected adventure!
